As much as I support vaccination I feel like the media establishment is downplaying the effectiveness of natural immunity to make normies think antivaxxers are gonna prolong the pandemic forever, which is obviously not going to happen and the pandemic will end the way pandemics normally do. If the new Merck pill is as effective as they claim and gets approved that'll significantly blunt the effect of coof in combination with vaccination and we can just move on with our lives.

@xianc78 I don't think it'll work. Tell normies who've been vaxxed that if they get it anyways they can go to the doctor and get a pill and there's no way they're gonna put up with lockdowns and shit. Most people are happy to go to sporting events, restaurants, etc. and won't give that up easily.
@ArdanianRight There have been talks about repurposing the lockdowns for climate change. And most of these COVID alarmists are also climate alarmists. The IPCC just issued "code red for humanity" a few months ago despite record sea ice and record snowstorms. It wouldn't surprise me if some countries start doing this.
@xianc78 US sure as hell won't. Maybe the Aussies or Brits but they can barely get Americans to wear masks, nevermind going back to lockdown.
@ArdanianRight There would probably be some parts of the US that would do it though. They would probably half-ass it like they did with the lockdowns.
Luckily, seeing how Australia is resisting vaccine mandates and lockdowns gives me hope for humanity.
