@xianc78 There is things like INA and Cinémathèque Française that are dedicated to restoration and archival. They do a pretty good job but INA is basically Netflix and Cinémathèque Française is the typical french public service which shouldn't have copyrights other than public domain or a libre content license but end up being quite restrictive.
