@LoliHat @Dicer @xianc78 in his books, the politics are all over the place. Down and Out in Paris and London sympathizes with the poor, but Keep the Aspidistra Flying feels like a post-modernist libertine rant from a completely different author.

@noyoushutthefuckupdad @xianc78 @Dicer He came across to me as a democratic socialist who lamented how socialist regimes kept on going totalitarian. His experiences in the Spanish Civil War certainly helped shape things.
