But at least it's green don't you know? All that mined lithium, all that lithium up in flames, and think of the poor rich people without their new Bentley :(

Also look up UPS Flight 6. A cargo plane crashed because of an out of control lithium fire that destroyed the aircraft from the inside out as it was in flight, disabling controls and producing fumes that took out one of the pilots as well.

@Aether @xianc78 Even where I live, the only reason EVs are selling isn't because they're better. It's because Teslas are a status symbol of a few specific classes, either the technology obsessed bugs or the same early Prius adopters with Bernie, Biden, and Obama stickers on the back. Either that or they have a short commute to work and never leave the city unless it's on a plane.

Most people in my area buy hybrids or plug-in EVs (which are really just hybrids with a fancy ass name and XXL battery). Hybrids took off instead of diesel cars in the USA because of the old wives tales about diesel cars/engines.
