@nerdman I believe that in the Fallout universe, the aliens from Mothership Zeta were the "shadow org" responsible for starting The Great War.
Or literally an irl version of Wag the Dog. They need a crisis to distract from the high gas prices, inflation, and vaccine fiasco.
