People say ethanol wears out rubber engine seals, but yet also say we add it to gas to "clean the engine"... dilute for profit.
And there's no physical difference in the engine design for flexfuel vehicles that can run on biodiesel/ethanol - just a different timing firmware. E95 is offered at fuel stations all over Brazil.
Alcohol's tough to run in cold weather, but I'd bet it does better than batteries.
