Why does our society put people who work in entertainment (i.e actors, musicians, athletes, etc.) on such a high pedestal? They are really bad influences and no sane person should ever look up to them.

I read a thing recently that I saw on fedi with a history of Walt Disney's attempt to keep Jews from controlling movie production, and that leading to Hollywood. Unfortunately I've lost it.
