I hate how I graduated college during the (post)-COVID era. There are still jobs that require the Russian-roulette jabs and I'm expected to own nothing and be happy in less than a decade.

@xianc78 I graduated hs right at the start of covid era. Then started general studies in college, but failing miserably due to online class bs. Covid genuinely fucked my shit up

@ItsSkyDragonz COVID prevented me from doing any internships. It also fucked up my grades too, but I managed to get through it.

@PhenomX6 I've seen offerings requiring a 4th booster. One said the wouldn't take anyone who had the J&J because "it's not effective enough" according to the CDC. Luckily, the only jobs offerings that explicitly say this are medical ones.

I'm trying to go for remote because it reduces the chances of having to take that.

@PhenomX6 @xianc78 The only job opening I've seen to be requiring any kind of injection was one IT company in the Chiba prefecture who require their employees to take flu shots twice a year.
I hope they get bankrupt over this, extremely dangerous shit!
@xianc78 Glad I skipped college, if I'm gonna be stuck working one of the only dead end jobs that doesn't require vaccination at least I don't have a mountain of student loan debt to repay

@galena I only went to college because I wanted to play it safe despite all the talk about how college is a scam. In hindsight, I should've just gotten an IT certification.

@xianc78 @galena you may have to move south and anything medicine adjacent is off the table. practitioners have no rights.
@xianc78 @galena there was a whole lawsuit in houstin tx where a nontrivial number of staff said they weren't taking the shot because of safety concerns and the judge just went don't care experts said do it i'm washing my hands of this.

@icedquinn @galena The push to get everyone vaccinated was/is fucking crazy but everyone should've saw it coming even before COVID as vaccine mandates and passports were being pushed by Big Pharma long before then. They just needed an excuse.

@icedquinn @galena I don't plan on working in the medical field. I only got a few offers from them and they all required the jabs. Others don't seem to care.

@xianc78 You graduated in a field that gave you valuable skills, I say use the opportunity to establish yourself outside of the wagie industrial complex entirely as it's been collapsing for arguably the past decade
