@waltercool @ryo The UK still wants to think they control the world. In fact, WWI was actually started by a secret society attempting to make the US part of the UK again.

I might agree on that.

UK and US had *no real interest* to join WW1 to be fair. WW1 was a complex war, but mostly AustrianHungarian power vs Serbian Nationalism, Russian vs AustroHungarian White Rus, and French revanchism on Elsaß-Lothringen lost from Germans.

UK was mad at Germany for several reasons, specifically for their monarchy bloodline (Queen Victoria favoritism), naval/trade fleet and their intervention at Africa on British colonies (Moroccoan Crisis of 1911).

Also, US had no real reason to intervene on European wars except U-boat destruction (providing UK with war/food resources) by Germany. Their main argument at congress was the Zimmermann Telegram shown by UK, and that's all (trust me bro). Franz von Papen (at that time, diplomat at US) rejected those accousations, same with Mexico who already faced several internal conflicts (Liberation Army).

From that time, UK had the whole monopoly on European-American communications by Telegram
Trade was one of the main reasons as well, Germany surpased UK by first time on trade and GDP.

At that time, UK had the whole control of the seas, and Germany also challenged that.
