@xianc78 Well for suburban/town stuff tends to be far away instead as the density is lower but US often still makes them horribly car dependent.

Meanwhile here you would typical see kids and old people preferring to avoid driving a car on bicycles (or also rollers/skates for kids) to just get groceries or visiting a friend when it's in the area.

@lanodan Your cities were built before zoning laws were a thing. You literally have stores next to your apartments.

@xianc78 lol, the area where I live in in currently was mostly just farms and industrial stuff about 20 years ago, where are the stores and restaurants?
5~20 minutes walk.
