@ArdainianRight @cee Japan has the worst gun control I've seen (outside of countries that ban all fire arms for public use). They literally have government officials interview your family members every few years in order for you to own firearms.
And people forget that Japan was embracing LGBT themes in media long before the west. Lesbians in Sailor Moon immediately comes to mind.
@xianc78 @ArdainianRight @cee I think anime has itself been a catalyst for the transexualism craze in the west, which might be worth a writeup all its own.
The LGBT themes stemming from that long ago are deceptively not-so LGBT friendly. Keeping in mind the target audience, same sex relationships in high school are acceptable because they're "practice runs" for having a real relationship, where fucking up is fine because it's not a real relationship, because it's a gay one in high school.
