@lanodan not gonna lie, calling each other "faggot" was more fun and less brain-damaging than trying to have a serious conversation with akkoma/alex guys, literally the least worst thing happened. Maybe I just know how to deal with those people.
@hj @lanodan
me, not even knowing akkoma existed in the first place :blobcatcool:
@xianc78 @icedquinn @lanodan @hj Akkoma is Pleroma with more Akko :shrug_akko: :hug: (idk I think I read that on the website but I'm still confused what it's all about)

@kerosene @icedquinn @lanodan @hj I know graf and gleason recently made their own Pleroma fork and apparently they made a "no trannies" policy when it comes to contributors.

>"no trannies" policy
Source?
Honestly considering leaving gleasonator now.

@Hyolobrika @icedquinn @kerosene @lanodan @hj I recently had a conversation with graf on having an open source project without drama and he said the solution was to have a "no trannies" policy, but I don't know if they actually have it. I really don't care honestly.

I know as much as anyone that there is one particular trans person who causes a lot of drama (coughcougheris). But I have seen no evidence that trans people as a class are more likely to stir up drama than cis people. I have seen plenty of trans ppl on here who don't.
And there are also cis people who do (coughcoughtheotherEris)
If the history of internet trannies is anything to go by, it's an unacceptable risk to have them around in any way shape or form if your goal is to get shit done with a minimum of drama.

The only trans people who haven't created some drama/backlash are literally the ones who simply lurk and don't draw attention to themselves. Normal or neutral bios, no commenting or pushing trans acceptance or queer ideology, etc. Those are like a lightning rod for drama.

If you fill your bio with queer pride shit, flags of every sort, pronouns, and a bunch of milqueoast neoliberal/ancom talking points you absolutely are going to get shit on, and people are going to think you are yet another unhinged troon

And I'm not the only one who thinks that people who are so mentally unstable they can't come to terms with their own physical nature and instead need expensive drugs, hormone replacement, and life-altering surgery from Dr Shecklestein are the kinds of people who are going to be problematic to have around... Especially as colleagues and partners.
@Jackuu @Hyolobrika @xianc78 @icedquinn @lanodan @hj It's like with most of every deranged or deviant personality out there really, the "good ones" (not annoying) are those who don't draw attention to themselves constantly, and this basically includes everything, even fandoms/communities (I'm looking at you k-popers, "rustaceans", etc).
@Hyolobrika

I've been watching them run rampant through open source projects left and right. They're nothing but trouble unless they shut up and code without mentioning identity. Same goes for all other identity politics.

@icedquinn @kerosene @xianc78 @lanodan @hj
If you "don't know" then don't spread misinformation. I'm sure Alex is more then happy to work with anyone who shares his vision of a mainstream fedi server with good UX.
graf is just being a right-wing sjw again

@kr0n0tu @icedquinn @kerosene @Hyolobrika @lanodan @hj I didn't say that it for sure has that policy. I'm saying that it might. Alex seems to get along with people he disagrees with, but graf is probably a different story.

@xianc78 @Hyolobrika @icedquinn @kerosene @lanodan @hj at a glance it makes sense not allowing mentally ill people into your internet enterprise, but

there’s no way to verify that newcomers are actually sane
it would exclude spergs and other people on the spectrum which are usually beneficial to open sores software
