@enigmatico There are still BBSs you can access over telnet, but they're mostly for nostalgia purposes. They are also really popular in Southasia for some reason.

@xianc78 @enigmatico BBS is popular here in Japan too, but not the BBS you're thinking of.
(I never knew about overseas definition of "BBS" until last year.)

@ryo @xianc78 Oh... I was talking about bulletin board systems, just ancient ones. The ones you had to access through a CLI.

I actually did help someone a little bit in the past translating and developing one (web based). It's pretty cool that in japan people still uses old software like this.
