the realization that hard work and merit isn't what pays and instead life is all about dancing for the rich, which is followed by refusing to become a dancer, is probably the origin of the whole late stage capitalism thing.

there may be pilers on who are just lazy or communist or whatever. but i don't think the precept is about laziness. it's about not being bezos' property and only doing whatever amazon can be forced to spill a couple coins over.
covid fascism overty exposed some of the privilege these places have like literally having their competitors declared "non essential" and banned from working.

i can only imagine how sweet it must be to be able to get the State to outright ban your competitors from doing business.
