Politicians having short hair and no facial hair, along with the population in general, with the opposite becoming socially unacceptable, at least in "respectable" and "important" positions. You know who else has and has always had little to no hair and no facial hair? Slaves and prisoners. And non-aristocrats, so, slaves again.
