@Ricotta More like government. I don't care who controls it. Government is always bad. Anarchy is the only solution.

@xianc78 Anarchy is merely a temporary transitional state before authoritarianism reasserts itself in a more pure form.

If the government disappeared tomorrow, by Friday you'd be governed by whoever in your local area has the most guns and the will to actually use them.

@Ricotta There have been stateless societies that have lasted longer than the US. Ireland was basically ancap for 1000 years. Bronze Age India was stateless for 1500 years.

@xianc78 @Ricotta not the automatic kind. And it was still ruled by whoever had the biggest group of armed robbers
@xianc78 @yangwenli And those guns were used 99% of the time to enforce the law. Law set by the government.

@Ricotta @yangwenli The American Old West was basically ancap. They've set up order long before government agents arrived and infrastructure was privatized.

@xianc78 @yangwenli If by Ancap you mean under the authority and protection of the US Army, then yeah.
@xianc78 @Ricotta Do you know any good resources for more information about this period in Ireland? This site is pretty brief about it.
