Seems like Pawoo got bought up by Suji Yan who already owns 2 other major Masto instances.
This is really concerning, because not only is the company run by foreigners (https://web.archive.org/web/20221027022343/https://sujitech.com/), it really seems like 1 company tries to centralize all the (Japanese) instances under 1 company too.
Does he ultimately try to become the BlackRock of Fedi instances?
Suji himself is full of red flags; studied in Americuck, foreign urinalist in Japan, stereotypical soyboy, self-doxes real name and face on soycial media (on Fedi at least, not as much on Shitter).........
Especially worrying considering that Pawoo was always a pro-loli instance, which might change with owners like these.
While I don't worry about 076 SNS and GNU Social JP as much because both are tiny and the owners are smart enough to know it's important to remain independent, I do kind of worry about Fedibird, Juggler, and Misskey.io, as these could potentially be for sale next.
