As a Jew and a parent of a trans kid, I am having a lot of challenges with the gaming community’s acceptance of the new wizard game.

The creator of that IP is a gleeful anti-trans bigot. The game’s story is built around blood libel. And yet, outlets are still giving it huge play and content creators are conveniently ignoring the harm this game’s profits will directly contribute to.

Everyone needs to make their own choice, sure. But I am having a hell of a time not judging people.

@animeirl @Futterish I've heard around that the convo is starting to heavily shift from "transphobia" to this because the former didn't really work
idk why people are still harping on this like any attempt to organize a boycott was half-assed and it's obviously failed. In fact, if anything it increased the game's publicity so with that in mind why continue to talk about it?
@animeirl @Futterish Considering how annoying the ADL is, and how the organization is basically one of the biggest useful idiot around, it might actually work this time
Someone else had a point; wouldn't it imply the goblins are against Jews?
Me neither and I could give less of a shit, the people following this are the kind of people who sleep when there's a chemical leak in one state over that has the possibility to fuck over their water supply but get angry over a video game made by someone they hate.
the ufo shit is also a psyop to distract for this. They haven't even reported everything that's been released from those train cars yet. we have no idea how bad this is
@animeirl @PhenomX6 @Futterish @coolboymew backyard animals and pets are dying around where they told everyone "the odor" was safe to breathe
they did and then came back and smelled the crap and realized "this shit won't come out" and left again.
like no joke that was a redpill to all of them that they absolutely got lied to since they also didn't get told exactly what the chemicals were.
@PhenomX6 @xianc78 @Futterish @animeirl @coolboymew the astounding thing is that they (allegedly) lit it on fire on purpose. at least if it was soaked into the dirt they could maybe dig most of it up and dispose of it safely, and yea the ground water would be poisoned, but it's going to be regardless.

i geuss all we can hope is that UV light from the sun can degrade whatever is on the surface and perhaps people can treat their soils and things with neutralizing chemicals

what happens when we eat food coming from those farms...
its also not far from the ohio river to this is potentially a lot worse than just affecting the surrounding area
some of it got into the river possibly for sure, the real fear too is gonna be possible acid rain in the coming weeks. Here they're saying they'll shut down access to the river if they detect it.

@PhenomX6 @xianc78 @Futterish @animeirl @coolboymew next question: why did the train derail. trains don't derail on their own
mechanical failure they say, probably related to shit like the railway strike being sank and workers leaving the field.
faulty train or track components caused by continuous cuts by the rail company to staffing, inspection, maintenance. saw a rail worker talking about how car inspection was recently cut in half. Works are also overworked so you have a bunch of exhausted overworked people forced to inspect each car in under 90 seconds now so ofc they are going to miss maintenance issues and stuff is eventually going to start falling apart
some poster on Reddit claimed her husband worked for a rail company and was waiting for this to happen so they could stop treating workers like shit and forcing them sign off on unsafe trains.
@animeirl @PhenomX6 @xianc78 @Futterish @coolboymew they said a bearing and/or a flange on a wheel went bad. basically a wheel was worn out and rode off the track, according to official source.

imagine how many years of neglect is required to cause a train wheel to completely fail
I mean; look at the state of wiring on aircraft for years that kept causing fires and explosions until they decided to do something about it.

Recently there was a fire speculated to be such but as it turns out the pilot was fucking smoking in the cockpit.
@PhenomX6 @xianc78 @Futterish @animeirl @coolboymew there's always a trade off between economics and safety. airlines do have a fairly good track record although, recently they have been slipping
@animeirl @meowski @PhenomX6 @xianc78 @Futterish @coolboymew Exactly. I think that's why you're not seeing a lot of coverage about this. The so-called "voting for your own interests" party just completely fucked over a strike that would have helped solve this problem two months ago, and they have the microphones. If the Republicans weren't a bunch of kleptocrats that are happy playing bad cop for the Dems, they could eviscerate them over this.
@coolboymew @Futterish @PhenomX6 @animeirl @meowski @xianc78 Tangentially. The strike was over working conditions creating mass turnover with rail companies, even though rail workers get killer benefits and pensions. The cause of this was Norfolk Southern ignoring regulatory measures. They're saying it was cost-cutting, but it's much harder to keep up with safety and accountability measures when you're so deep in LEAN bullshit that you only have a bare minimum of exhausted and demoralized workers to run the train to begin with.
sure but it's highly correlated since overworked employees with no time off working on unrealistic time scales are going to make more mistakes and miss critical maintenance issues as is the case here
@mrsaturday @animeirl @Futterish @PhenomX6 @coolboymew @meowski @xianc78 In early 2022 there was a bunch of news stories about how things were so bad that "train robberies are now back" Union Pacific said that robberies of their trains in Los Angeles County had risen over 356% since 2020. Union Pacific and various Conservative hack outlets said it was because Soros-appointed prosecutors were refusing to punish criminals and letting thieves out on no money bail, but it turned out that the real reason was that Union Pacific fired almost all their guards to save money and other train companies weren't seeing similar losses.
@PhenomX6 @meowski @xianc78 @Futterish @animeirl @coolboymew wonder how many people will actually get a sufficient payout from this. not enough to be sure.
@meowski @PhenomX6 @xianc78 @Futterish @animeirl @coolboymew

>As I rolled past the “Welcome To East Palestine” sign this week, I thought...

fuck you john russel. christ i hate narrative journalism
@meowski @PhenomX6 @xianc78 @Futterish @animeirl @coolboymew >all these cuts to rail maintinence and inspection and staff etc

my state replaced the ties on a long strech thru multiple counties just last october. guess im glad it's not being ignored here.

I’m mostly due to two reasons:

American infrastructure sucks so we don’t actually want more of it
Most American infrastructure programs are stuffed with pork, to the point where the majority of the funding doesn’t even go towards actual infrastructure

It’s not even that, it’s mostly about getting stuff passed that couldn’t get passed otherwise

@Nudhul @tn5421 @PhenomX6 @meowski @Futterish @animeirl @coolboymew @realcaseyrollins You have to dig deep into various layers of shadow governments to take out the people who are really in charge.

@xianc78 @tn5421 @PhenomX6 @meowski @Futterish @animeirl @coolboymew @realcaseyrollins it'll take a few generations, but things can be good until then if people are taught to remain vigilant with extreme punishment for sellouts.

we should bring back torture executions. i get it now. some people can cause so much damage that just dying isnt enough. they must suffer greatly as they die as a warning to others
Biden talks more about infrastructure bills than doing anything. He's basically like "where is our president what can we do about it" bro you're the president.

@PhenomX6 @tn5421 @meowski @Futterish @Nudhul @animeirl @coolboymew Those Infrastructure Bills are Great Reset shit, like having mandatory kill switches in cars by 2026.

@xianc78
I just want a real infrastructure bill with minimum pork shenanigans and 0 Great Reset shenanigans

@PhenomX6 @meowski @Futterish @Nudhul @animeirl @coolboymew
work a few rhymes into it, and find a musician, for an immortal folk tune ...
