Fediblock thinks pleroma folks are leaving fedi for nostr

Lol. Lmao. Nostr is only being used by bitcoin people who left Twitter, it's not us
@coolboymew honestly i don't like it much and i think it will fail but it has a few things about it that are better than fedi (they are worse by some other people's reckoning however). a bunch of the clients have integrated bitcoin tipping and that has affected posting behavior about how you would expect (i am also so guilty of this lol)
@Moon

>a bunch of the clients have integrated bitcoin tipping and that has affected posting behavior about how you would expect

Jack wanted to do this to Twitter and yeah, terrible idea
Follow

@coolboymew @Moon Honestly, is it any different than 10grans or any other possible tipping-bot? I know 10grans isn't meant for actual investing or trade, but I do know that AnarkioCrypto was working on a Monero bot for the fedi and that other crypto bots can be created.

AFAIK, the zaps aren't even part of the official Nostr protocol. It's an optional feature that some clients have implemented.

@xianc78 @Moon the issue is that gamifying anything (other than for pure motivation, like workout), and putting a monetary value on it will shit up your social media very, very fast and will basically very quickly get back to "muh twitter celeb", but even worse somehow

@coolboymew @Moon But there is nothing you can do to stop it. Not even on here.

@xianc78 @Moon I've seen years of really bad twitter users being active 24/7, really fucking awful accounts. Imagine putting a monetary value to that on top of all this, just awful

>Not even on here

The division and potentially other stuff that will divide the fedi (protocol war, etc) will make it sure that nobody can become too big

E-celeb culture is indeed cancer

@coolboymew @Moon The only way to truly stop e-celeb culture is to have everyone be anonymous. And I mean imageboard anonymous, as in you can't tell if two posts are from the same user (maybe unless they are in the same thread).

@xianc78 @Moon the fediverse is already doing a good job at that. Not having a single massive network helps a lot with that
@coolboymew @xianc78 @Moon also lack of some central identity.

Just name yourself eris. You will then blend into the other erises.
@xianc78 @coolboymew it's got its own type of event defined in the protocol
@xianc78 @coolboymew > is it any different than 10grans

nope, guilty as charged :10grans_chaching:
@xianc78 @coolboymew just to be fair though, you have to add a bitcoin address or invoice to your profile to receive, tipping is completely optional, and clients don't have to show them of course.

@Moon @coolboymew I haven't added one to mine. I only post gamedev stuff on there and not much else.
