@animeirl 🤓 <(guys wanna trade cp on urbit) <---- YOU
@pernia @animeirl urbit is the nostr of whatever category of stuff it is
@animeirl @meso i dont think it runs on bare metal, isn't supposed to. it uses its own functional programming language called Hoon (poon) to connect to the network. its like blockchain icann basically, and then u add feudalism but with starcoin or whatever instead of grain to get the star/galaxy system cc @mia
hoon is cool cause its like "what if we made brainfuck but not as a joke?"
@animeirl @meso @pernia @mia it doesnt even have a reason to use retarded terminology. apl gets away with it because its 60 years old
im convinced the entire thing is an elaborate joke
@mia @pernia @errante @animeirl i judge a software project by whether its website has a wacky font or not
@meso @animeirl @errante @pernia

// if you didn't want this page in comic sans why do you have the font installed?
@mia @pernia @errante @animeirl it's not in comic sans + i don't have it installed it's a web font it
@PhenomX6 @meso @pernia @mia @errante @bot @animeirl I actually think Wayland offers a fair number of tangible improvements (particularly in gaming applications thanks to Gamescope et al.) but it's definitely not as simple as "X bad, Wayland good" and anyone who tells you that also has a bridge to sell you.

@netdoll @meso @pernia @PhenomX6 @mia @errante @bot @animeirl It isn't compatible with SFML. Not that many games use that, but still.

@xianc78 @meso @pernia @PhenomX6 @mia @errante @bot @animeirl Wayland natively you mean? It's honestly a non factor if you're using Gamescope because it just renders to an XWayland surface under a dedicated nested compositor (works a lot better than it sounds)
