Thinking about how easy it would've been for any of the great ambitious, farsighted, and charismatic leaders throughout history to have constructed a Thousand Year American Empire in the immediate aftermath of 9/11, but sadly our only two options were a retarded nepo baby and a cringe envirofaggot. We could've had it all, nuclear power, carceral urbanism, border security, cleaning up bureaucratic rot, etc. Augustus Caesar could've never comprehended the powers and resources he would've had at his disposal to create an Immortal Imperium.

Probably. America was so much more fixable back then, just needed to use emergency empowerment as a justification to push through any number of needed reforms to actually make the nation and system somewhat sustainable longterm. The US of course did the opposite of all that.
