Libertarians of Fedi. Should we bring back child labor?

@djsumdog Do you mean children voluntarily working for companies or parents selling their children to companies?

@xianc78 @djsumdog i never figured out how you allow this in a way that ensures the revenues actually go to the child.
@icedquinn @djsumdog @xianc78 you cant. itll always go to the parents.

remember the parents own kids till they are 15 or something.
@naaksit @djsumdog @xianc78 they are basically property until they are 18.

now not all the parents are shipping their kids off to farm beer money. there is kind of a good use in letting people earn their own monies. (child labor laws certainly did me no favors; i was just neglected in a bedroom for years because i wasn't allowed to get work.)
@xianc78 @djsumdog if its for companies that shit is never voluntary.
kids working alongside their parents is fine or an apprenticeship/ opportunity that leads to an career .

@naaksit @djsumdog The fact that children can technically start their own business, but can't work a job doesn't make sense to me.

That sounds like a distinction without a practical difference.

@djsumdog If it's child selling, it's a one time payment that only goes to the parents.
