@waltercool He probably defederated because Bryan Lunduke (who is apparently public enemy #1 in the woke side of the FOSS movement) is on there.

@xianc78 Telling people when mega woke IT corporations are doing corruption or funding politics is now a sin.
@waltercool @xianc78 these are the people getting tech jobs while you're flipping fries or being a whipping boy for a fake "tech" job
@PurpCat @xianc78 Those guys are mostly parasites who do nothing technical 😂

They get jobs for being mentally disabled and apply by DEI, then will annoy people enough to create new pointless roles inside, like gender equality boards.

Getting into big tech companies isn't much about being a good professional, it is mostly getting the right contacts. Good professionals usually do contractor jobs or work for medium/small companies.

I know some shtty professionals working at Google, Amazon, Redhat, Microsoft and few others. They are just numbers and will keep their jobs no matter if they work or not.
@PurpCat @xianc78 Example, what the fck is a developer relations? DBA? Full time developer?

It sounds to me like a guy who just talk with devs.
@waltercool @xianc78 he has a fake email job while you're fry flipping or working a shit job like I am :D

I wish I could get a slick job too where I could just sit back and vibe and focus on what I wanna do easier ngl
@PurpCat @xianc78 Lmao, I have a good devops job and whole team on my lead. In other hand, I'm not public about my personal life.
@PurpCat @xianc78 Why looking for game dev? They are mostly beggars unless you work for big companies with shtty work ethics, or you make p0rn games at itch with Patreon.

I have two coworkers who worked in Ubisoft at some AAA games and mobile games, they all hated it.

@waltercool @PurpCat Are p0rn games the only ones making money off of the Pateon/crowd-tipping model?

@xianc78 @PurpCat I think so, Itch have way too much p0rn games.

Some free with Patreon, some others with a paid business model.

Some Itch games (including p0rn) had powerful jumps into Steam, GOG and other platforms.

@waltercool @PurpCat I thought about running a crowd-tipped game studio, but I don't know what to reward people who donate, and I have ZERO interest in making p*rn games.

@xianc78 @PurpCat You can try making a game for free, and put some Patreon, Liberapay or something for support.

Just put your game updates there, if someone is interested will start playing and give you some feedback. If your game gets some interest, people may start supporting you.

Itch gives you ton of freedom about that.
Follow

@waltercool @PurpCat Yeah, but I prefer having an actual website as well, and I have to decide which updates will be posted on the site and which will be posted for members only on Patreon, Liberapay, or whatever.
