What type of series (be it books, movies, or video games) do you prefer? Would you rather have a series that could theoretically go on forever (e.g Mario, Call of Duty, etc) or a series with a definitive end-point (e.g Earthbound/Mother, most book series etc.).

@xianc78 i like stuff that goes on forever, provided that it isn't destroyed by politics etc. nothing wrong with mario!

@bonifartius Mario works because the stories are simple and are completely isolated from any timeline. The can theoretically go on forever.
Though in terms of beloved and well known series, a lot of them either ended willingly or were just cut short due to time or financial constraints. One would argue that they would've lost their charm if they went on forever.
It's better to end it before you die etc.
