trump should sign an executive order mandating all public school CS programs require writing driver level assembly program in order to receive the degree and if you're caught using stack overflow for it your professor executes you on the spot
@binkle trump probably doesn't know what a computer is
@icedquinn @binkle Stack Overflow ? why ? ChatGPT or Grok or DeepShark can do that far quicker than browsing Stack Overflow for the "right" answer.
@binkle @icedquinn That technology exists, for better or worse, so it's better to adapt and thrive or not adapt and go the way of the Dodo. The faster you adapt at using AI efficiently, the better.
@TheMadPirate @binkle you mean the technology that is slowly getting pushed out of work spaces because the corporate surveys are showing it creates even worse code per line than the foreign wage slaves?

@TheMadPirate @icedquinn @binkle >I think it will get more accurate with time though.

Assuming model collapse doesn't happen.

VC helicopter money collapse will happen first. They're already super jumpy.

@gentoobro @icedquinn @binkle @TheMadPirate Not all LLMs are VC funded. Some LLMs like GPT4All are FOSS and user funded.

@xianc78 @gentoobro @binkle @TheMadPirate i think the implication is the VCs are paying for companies to push the slop. without them it's just hobbyists
@icedquinn @binkle @xianc78 @gentoobro The one that has benefited the most is NVIDIA, so far. Not even the RTX 5 series disaster seems to making a dent in their stock value.
@xianc78 @gentoobro @icedquinn @binkle So far, besides the subject of accuracy, the biggest issue I found with LLMs are that they seem to act like Yes Men. What I mean is that, they rarely say "Oh, wait! What you are proposing seems interesting but it would need something that is very unlikely/unfeasible", they instead say "Oh! That's a great idea! That could totally be a game changer!".

@TheMadPirate @icedquinn @binkle @gentoobro I've noticed this exact problem with ChatGPT which is why I don't trust it as a brainstorming tool.

That's because there are far more publish conversations of people agreeing than disagreeing. The latter you would only find on forums or novels, not published in nonfiction books or articles. There's little point publishing arguments in most situations, as only the final result is useful.

Of course, LLM's have no concept of truth or falsehood (or "concepts" at all for that matter) so if they were trained heavily on arguments then they would just constantly argue with you regardless of reality.

@gentoobro @icedquinn @binkle @xianc78 The issue soars with the "9th man situation". Where a out-of-the-box disagreement can return you to the right track.

VC's are funding the infinite construction of massive datacenters to train the new whiz-bang LLM chatbot that will finally make humans obsolete and therefore somehow make money off of people who now have no jobs.

That is where the WEF "we just don't need most people" and Georgia Guidestones "maintain 500 million" philosophies come into play.

Huge population collapse is almost certainly planned, but first they have to get rid of the hardiest, most independent people who could fight back and survive.

One deeply unsettling theory is that The Great Reset wasn't supposed to commence until AFTER all the anti-covid anti-vaxxers were shipped off to FEMA camps for refusing the jab.
THEY OUR BITCHES N SHEEIT DAMN NIGGA WE AIN'T BREEDIN WIT DEM FUCKIN CHALKIES :noticed2:
