I just realized that Drew DeVault gave tech CEOs another excuse to hire only H1B workers.
@wowaname Drew DeVault was calling for tech workers in general to sabotage in both the private and public sector because Trump is in office and Big Tech isn't pretending to be left-wing anymore.
He even directed his incitement towards Palantir, which is run by faux-libertarian technocrat, Peter Thiel. I'm not a fan of Thiel, but by targeting him and Musk specifically, they will start to think twice before hiring and it gives them another excuse to hire H1Bs from India because those people probably never even heard of Drew DeVault.
I know that the technocratic issues are real and they are happening regardless of who is in office, but Drew making it about "right-wing bad" instead of looking at the bigger picture is going to make any opposition towards it look cringe.
Also, his simple sabotage ideas suck and will just lead to the saboteur getting caught. The Simple Sabotage handbook that he cited was much better written compared to his glowing blog post.
@wowaname I'm not trying to be bipartisan. The problem is that Drew is trying to be bipartisan. I agree that this shouldn't be a left/right issue, but Drew thinking that this technocracy is exclusively coming from the right is just going to alienate people.
Has Drew DeVault ever comment about carbon-credit scores or ULEZ cameras? Not from what I've seen. I'm against all forms of technocracy, left or right, but Drew seems to be only against "right-wing technocracy".
