There's a video out there in which they zoom in and you can actually see he unfolding a knife, it's blurry but still looks a lot like it's actually a knife. Maybe Miles would argue that it conveniently showed up in frame, you know, to create more of an impactful scene, but he opening the knife sorta histrionically, as if mocking the victim on her back isn't incompatible with the racist/sicko motivations explanation anyway.

I barely know who he is, but I suppose what I've heard around these parts is sensible: ideologically, he was pretty polite and generous with his opposition and even made his carrer out of plataforming right wingers in the natural and legal stadium for left/right confrontation, which is the institutional politics.
Even then he got killed, and he wasn't even that extreme so it all comes to illustrate the crazy extent to which the american left has closed itself ina bubble unwilling to consider other opinions. Right wingers can be very trapped in echo chambers too, for sure but left wingers seem to be more erratic in their actions and closeminded these days.
