Okay here is my conundrum

I have ideas for like 20-30 different services and websites (to essentially self-host like literally everything), but don’t have enough money for 20-30 different computers

I know you have run different services on the same computer, but 1) I only have an #RPi ATM, and doubt that adding anything on top of #PLEX + #VNC + #SFTP is a good idea (although if you think it could handle something like #IRC lmk) and 2) I have certain things (like #DisqueTV) that I would prefer to host on #Windows rather than #Linux.

Do any of you guys have an idea on how I can run as many services as I want on minimal hardware? (Don’t worry, I plan on buying at least one additional machine so I’m not asking if y’all think that running 30 websites off of one #RPi is a good idea)

@realcaseyrollins Well. You want “minimal hardware” but Windows hosting so this is gonna be pretty much impossible right off.

I use a decent computer, then run it as a hypervisor for various virtual machines, then an nginx reverse proxy to sort things out based on domain name.

Haha fair enough. Although, granted, other than #DisqueTV, there isn’t really anything else I’m gonna need #Windows for. I’m thinking ATM my optimal setup would be 2 #Linux machines and 1 #Windows machine. Although IDEK if our house will even have space for THAT 😂

@shebang Thanks for the advice! I’m definitely going to bookmark this for later.

@realcaseyrollins Proxmox is a good hypervisor, it’s free although it nags you a bit.
