Kurds have taken full control of the Iraqi border.

SAA units are retreating to Damascus to buttress the defence there.

Russian airforce jets tried cutting the M5 highway to Homs, but they failed, twice.

Rebels are on the outskirts of the city, in the process of encircling it.

They have sent drone operators to tie-down SAA in Latakia, preventing them linking up with SAA forces by Homs/Damascus.

And, finally, there is apparently an uprising south of Damascus, in the area of Daraa.

This is the end. No question now. This is the end of Assad's regime.

According to some reports, Daraa has been taken by the rebels, again without almost any fighting.

The SAA agreed to leave, most likely heading north to Damascus for a last stand.

The SAA is crumbling, and Assad has still said nothing.

The only statements coming out are from Syrian government officials about how they're "winning" and "the counteroffensive" will happen.

Assad is clearly terrified. Who wouldn't be, in this situation? I'd actually wager he's going to be killed within the Kremlin. Putin views him as dead weight.

His wife is heading to Russia along with his children. Other relatives made the safe decision to remain in the UAE.
