So like, if someone boosts a post made by someone I've muted, I'll still see the post? That's a pretty cool Mastodon feature.

@mewmew @shebang It describes itself as "A social network that champions free speech, individual liberty and the free flow of information online. All are welcome." Yet it's opposed to all of those things, and none of them are actually welcome.

@shebang Gab blocks a ton of people - they have no attachment to the principle of "free speech".

Fedi is at the boring hour. Its between the shifts, you see. The day crew is going to bed, and the night crew has yet to wake up, leaving only a few lonely souls who really have nothing better to do with their lives than hang out here.

@semibot The body of a rabbit is extremely unlucky, and the bad luck from the body outweighs the good luck from all four feet. That means it has net bad luck, and died in a tragic accident. The unlucky parts decomposed faster due to the bad luck, leaving only the lucky parts (the feet) which are too lucky to rot.

@shebang @dsteele713 I identify as nonbinary, and I'm pretty right wing. I guess that makes me the most special and unique enby of all.

@major I am legally required to say yes, that is very racist, and you are a bad racist person for complaining about Corona. Just let yourself get infected, stop being racist, racism is way more harmful than Corona. It's just the sniffles, just listen and believe, everything's fine, stop being racist. My government said so, so it must be true, and I am not allowed to disagree with my government, because I have Freedom of Speech™️.

It's the big game whose name must not be said lest we invoke the wrath of copyright law.

@toast You're just trying to trick us into using suboptimal strategies that harm us in the long run. By intentionally doing things I believe are wrong, I'm helping my enemy more than I would be if I followed this advice. Intentionally feeding disinfo to other players to trick them into using suboptimal strats, thus making your own optimized strat even more useful in comparison, is a truly advanced metagaming strategy - metagaming the meta itself - which only a truly expert level player should attempt.

@ZW748VSJSiwWMNBxyz@neckbeard.xyz @mewmew @KatGoesWoof @lottev I look at that as being similar to Myspace. Tumblr gave a user a tonne of freedom in customizing their user page, but tonnes of people just used similar premade templates that they thought looked nice, and most of the people who didn't use those good looking templates ended up creating horrific abominations that were impossible to navigate, changed your cursor to some random image the user thought was cute, covered the screen in sparkles, rainbows, and dancing ponies, and screeched awful music at you until you managed to figure out where exactly they decided to hide the pause or mute button - if they bothered to even include one. While it was a nice feature a lot of the site's userbase enjoyed, it was also something that, from what I saw, was seen as a nice cosmetic extra - not the main draw of the site, and something that was arguably more annoying than actually useful, to many people.

@ZW748VSJSiwWMNBxyz@neckbeard.xyz @mewmew @KatGoesWoof @lottev Tumblr is a blogging platform. Twitter is a microblogging platform. Fedi removes the "micro", since it isn't inherently restricted to Twitter's tiny character count.

@lottev @KatGoesWoof Tumblr refugees are a scourge on every platform, most of canceldon is them (plus Twitter refugees)
