My first love was a hipster boy, he showed me a lot of cool media that I didn't realize he only liked ironically, and I came to like it genuinely. Stuff like The Smiths, and gangster rap, and weirdo movies like Eraserhead.
@Jazzy_Butts that is something i've wanted to invent a word to describe for a long time - that phenomena of someone ironically or superficially liking something, introducing it to another person, and the person they introduce it to comes to have an unironic or deeper liking of it. a subword for the moments when the unironic interest causes the former person to dislike it or be concerned.
