If humans need lies to be human, then being human is a falsehood: then, out of being human (or being made human) why should I owe something toward that end? Because to admit to the fantasies means admitting to the fact that it is entirely circular self-interest: we want to be as we are, so you too have to be as we are and help us or be damned.
