Me to myself: Never trust, trust is dangerous, always doubt, never feel safe, because you are never safe, as soon as you let your guard down you are no longer safe. Be on edge. Look, listen, wait, be patient and stoic, play your part, smile, but never let them in. It's too dangerous to let anyone in.

@Jazzy_Butts see you went too far.

dont trust.
lock them out.
but
then you give them benefit of the doubt, and you let them in a little bit, under heavy observation. and you give them the chance to earn the trust. carefully.

@bitterblossom how do I know they don't know it's a test, how do I know I'm not being fooled?

@Jazzy_Butts you can't
you wont
but people deserve the chance, and you deserve the chance to have people inside; and with careful observation and testing the waters long enough, you'll ve able to determine just how far you really can trust them, and with what. you find a comfort level with that individual that goes as far as you want it to, and you can always push them out later if you need to.

nobody is going to be perfect. not as a lover, not as family, not as friends. we're all needy, selfish, flawed. but we're varied enough that literally everybody should be able to find somebody else they can include in their lives, even if it is a guarded relationship.

it's better than being alone (says the antisocial loner who pretty much only has friends that are ex-girlfriends)
@Jazzy_Butts live your entire life that way and never enjoy it, then. everyone should be able to trust the environment they live in.

@opal The only way for me to trust the environment I'm in would be for it to change drastically, that change is beyond my small power

@Jazzy_Butts work on it then, im trying to myself, you can tell i hate it here
@opal
@Jazzy_Butts
spend your entire life in a hole crying and everyone can then be happy because you are not there
