When I say "children should be able to have jobs and earn money", and people respond to me with "so you think children should [insert extremely hard and unsafe labor]?", maybe I should ask them whether they believe adults are all capable of this labor and deserve no protection from it.
"I legally can be employed" and "I legally can be forced into a job that's harmful to my health" are two completely different things, and it's worrying that some people think they're the same.
