well yeah if it's a fucking weather balloon it's still a surveillance balloon. it surveys the fucking weather (and probably also take photographs)
i call bs on it being "blown off course" all the way to cross central USA and make it to the atlantic to get shot down.
i also call bs on it being an actual threat. you've got satellites up there - lots of them, almost 5000 in 2019, which are all a lot harder to shoot down safely and taking satellite images of the usa and the rest of the world, sending a "spy balloon" is pretty fucking pointless.
my money says this is a psyop just to stir up muricans into being more scared of china so the guberment can push conflict into east asia again.
