It has been divinely revealed to me that the phrase "drop a dime" as in "to snitch" comes from payphones, a dime would be dropped in to place a call (usually to the authorities). I never even thought about this phrase, until just now for no reason it entered my head, and I went Ooooohhhhhhh it's a DIME FOR A PAYPHONE
