To make matters worse, his parents were under the impression he was at the YMCA - in truth, he was out shimmy dancing and getting into trouble! They're sending him out west to wrangle bulls and build character.

@bless It's weird though because it probably wasn't every dance hall, there had to be some places in at least africa where people where shaking their hips without shame. Culture is strange, I've been thinking lately, about how eurocentric education is in the west, it's like there's only one culture, western culture, and anything else isn't really culture.

@bless It could be argued it's like this everywhere, their culture is THE culture, yet they're all speaking English and are all learning euro originating knowledge about science and shit, so they don't get to have thay luxury, the luxury of your culture being the only culture, because they have the ever looming reality of english and eurocentric schooling
