I'm from Peru and say kill em all
@mischievoustomato do you think the starship troopers depicts humans as good?
@mischievoustomato it's one of the most unsubtle parodies I've ever seen in my life I think you might be legitimately retarded?
they just look pretty cool, idk. The thing with the bug war makes the whole military aspect make sense, but yeah a lot of the time they didnt seem to plan well against the bugs
@mischievoustomato the military aspect clearly predates the bug war that was started by humans lol. the bugs are also evil but the point of the movie is that humans are just as bad as a bunch of mindless bugs
sure, i just watched the movie, but there's no real argument against... killing bugs.
@mischievoustomato @animeirl in the movie they insinuate early on that the bugs are very intelligent, and at the conclusion of the movie it is confirmed.
@animeirl @mischievoustomato @Moon we are literally nothing but apes with tools who got lucky there is no difference between them and us and the same arguments used to kill "bugs" are just as applicable to our own elimination
yeah, but if you can overpower another gross kind, how is that bad?
@mischievoustomato @Moon @animeirl Then I don't want you to ever even come close to complaining about any ideas of human extinction
@Bunny @mischievoustomato @Moon @animeirl what right does one sentient species have to insist on the extinction of another without insisting on their own
@TURBORETARD9000 @mischievoustomato @Moon @animeirl Every. It’s called “self-preservation.” It’s the law of life. You will literally die or be enslaved and miserable if you do not follow it.
@Bunny @TURBORETARD9000 @mischievoustomato @Moon this is completely orthogonal to the moral question posed by the movie. Humanity is literally driving themselves to extinction because they're unwilling to deal with any problem without resorting to violence and brute force.
is the extinction pointed out in the movie? i dont remember that
@mischievoustomato @TURBORETARD9000 @Bunny @Moon humanity badly loses every direct engagement with the bugs except at the end where they capture one new bug (there is zero evidence this will help in any way) and it's suggested humans started the war. They immediately started an all out war with a technologically superior species instead of trying to coexist (like the bugs were already doing) and are going to be wiped out because of it
@mischievoustomato @TURBORETARD9000 @Moon @animeirl they literally say they have the ability to glass planets. The reason they don’t is to capture the bug. The NPCs we’re arguing have no recognition of an outgroup that wants to kill them and will be killed themselves whenever any outgroup wants to kill them. There is no recognition of a need to defend humanity from bugs, no recognition of a potential threat from an alien species, just moral judgments against humanity for starting the war.
i just dont like bugs and fail to see how just exterminating those things in retaliation is bad
@TURBORETARD9000 @Bunny @mischievoustomato @Moon he also keeps saying "in retaliation" even though it wasnt in retaliation lol
@animeirl @Bunny @mischievoustomato @Moon well yeah, just like the US he worships, we've never ever done anything wrong ever and never started anything, the CIA is fucking awesome and are the good guys
@TURBORETARD9000 @Bunny @mischievoustomato @Moon we need to pre-emptively attack, in retaliation, as self defense
@animeirl @Bunny @mischievoustomato @Moon look it's all their fault we bombed them with zero provocation they shouldn't have existed in our presence
Follow

@TURBORETARD9000 @Bunny @mischievoustomato @animeirl @Moon The troopers in starship troopers are neither good nor bad guys they are pawns they have all been lied to by their government and told the bugs attacked first

@Jazzy_Butts @TURBORETARD9000 @Bunny @mischievoustomato @Moon they're brainwashed to the point they believe comically stupid propaganda
