I'm watching the original power rangers and holy shit Billy (the blue ranger) just diffused a bomb by using karate. His master (who would have died in the explosion) was tied up and told Billy to use his karate training to focus his mental abilities 
@Jazzy_Butts I do recommend checking out the original Japanese version when you get the chance (though I don't think anyone disarms a bomb using karate unfortunately... but it has enough other silly stuff to make up for that omission lol)
