People who use real children for references are idiots. The way of the true artist is to create a memory library, and practice with references is fine, but when it's grind time are you a fucking artist or are you a biological copy machine? Let go and flow man the fuck also then no one will get mad at you for using illegal shit as direct references, not inspiration, references. The sheer stupidity of it baffles me.
@Jazzy_Butts I often dress my characters in things I see real kids wear in public, so their fashion is realistic and modern... but the characters themselves are not any real people, it's easy enough to design a character from scratch, we only have so many hair, eye, skin colors, so many traits that can be customized.
@InvincibleSugar Yes I like that way of doing things. I wasn't very clear I mean that people get upset when real references are used for publicly displayed pieces so it's counterproductive to do so.
