I remember a time when close fedifrens told me to stfu about being sympathetic to the IRA and I was and still am very confused. The IRA had a justifiable reason to make the English think twice about taking their sovereignty and you don't have to agree with their methods to support their goal of an independent Ireland. Whether they support gays and lesbians or anything else is beside the point, Ireland as a nation is entitled not to have its boarders, its people, oppressed. Once that's settled there can actually be conversations about progressing society. A society that is shackled by definition cannot progress, because until it is feee, it is not progressing in any direction, but is being subjected to the whims of an outside force that is, because of its ability to determine it's own progress, is the one that is really progressing, through the theft of the resources of others and labor is a resource/vent
