If the glass of water is at half it's capacity, is it partly filled, or partly empty?

The totally objective answer to this question is: neither. It actually is filled. 50% liquid, 50% air (the composition of it's gases).

The not so objective but still valid answer is: both at the same time. It's 50% liquid, 50% empty. Or we could simply say it's at half of it's capacity.

@enigmatico
No, the glass is full.

Half is filled with water and the other half with air, but the glass is full of particles.

Whe fact you're ignoring the particles of air is a value discrimination on your side...

Ok, sorry. At this point, I am learning statistics, so I am actually paying about 10% of my attencion to the mastodon.

You have no idea how boring it is but I need to learn it so I can get a worthless paper.........

@LukeAlmighty Well, do your best with your statistics then.

One thing though, about the "mastodon": it isn't mastodon. It's a federated timeline of decentralized services that compose what we colloquially know as the "fediverse". These decentralized services use different software. Mastodon is one of these software. There is also Pleroma, GNU Social, and their forks.

@enigmatico
I seriously don't get the need to differenciate what exact software do you use to browse fediverse. I know that many people keep explaining it, but it still goes over my head.

Just like the Linux/Unix differenciation. (I have no idea how many times I heard it explained)

@LukeAlmighty Internal politics. Differences in the ideals of each project leader in every software used here, as well as a difference in the features.

I forgot to mention Misskey, for instance. Which is my favorite up to this point.

If you ever have the time I'd suggest you explore this world a little bit. You will find it intriguing.
