ah, my windows 7 work laptop did a suspend to ram on the windows shut down screen, because i closed the lid before it finished, so i have to watch it now

@pony I have one better.
I press turn off, while having turned on notepad.
I close the lid.
Windows turns off everything except for notepad, and asks me if I want to turn off PC.
Aaand it waits untill all of my battery is gone. Then it goes to hybetnation in the barren state... but my notepad is safe 
@LukeAlmighty sometimes it remained powered on in my backpack, because the audio driver froze while trying to play the turn off chime...
