Overwhelmed

This is something of a constant in my life.

Whenever I do anything on my PC, I do research, it's innate to me. Whenever I work on something, go through my emails, talk to someone or just watch something: I look things up.

And I usually leave tabs open, thinking that I'll go through them soon. But what usually happens, is that I'm left with hundreds and hundreds of tabs open.

I'm never content with "not knowing", there's always a fear of "missing out". While it might've provided me with vast knowledge about various topics, what good does it do to me ultimately, aside from being able to talk about a lot? I could've used that time for my hobbies or just for talking to someone. It's been so long I even watched an anime.

I'm trying to use external services for everything where it makes sense, like putting games on Steam in the service's wishlist, and also saving the most interesting and/or memorable webpages as snapshots locally (HTML and as an image file), so that I just have them and could peruse at a later time.

How is everyone else handling this? Do you happen to have this problem?

How am I handeling it? Simple. No matter what, I just turn off the browser with 30 tabs and open a new one.

It as almost a ritual, since I do it every day at job aswell. :pepelol:

re: Overwhelmed

@LukeAlmighty @okabe_rintarou there's always going to be stuff you cannot know about, and you'll just have to do with that unfortunately

don't get me wrong, I get the same MOFO, and it is ruining my life... It is just not a case that can be solved by one button...

like taking a shower
or going to shop
...or writing a huge 10 000 word paper to get a different paper...

@LukeAlmighty @coolboymew >MOFO
There's only one definition I came across. Mh... 🤔

re: Overwhelmed

@coolboymew @LukeAlmighty So you never have this problem I described? For example, I know you watch a lot of anime, don't you always want to know what certain references mean when you come across one during an episode?

re: Overwhelmed

@okabe_rintarou @LukeAlmighty The big problem is recognizing it is one in the first place, and then it's like, how do I even search about that?

I've had recent anime referencing freaking ads from the 80s, so

re: Overwhelmed

@coolboymew @LukeAlmighty For example, a character mentions a book that exists in real life. I would look it up and see what it's about, because I also want to understand the character in the show more.
