I don't text relatives at all, for example, because that would be just weird, and nobody uses Open Source software anyways which I would insist on.
Playing games: Text between rounds vs calling where you can't voice chat and can't focus.
On a walk: Texting, just...walk. Answer text every few mins. Calling, talk around strangers in public awkwardly and have to dedicate time to them.
Lying with eyes closed: Use speech to text.
Shopping: ....I feel like all the benefits are already said. Shop at your leisure and only have to text back once in a while vs having to talk in public consistently for minutes and have your time wasted.
In conclusion, textiing will always win.
