@mushroom_soup@kiwifarms.cc I agree to an extent, mostly men and women currently don't know how to actually communicate, and people jump into things without really thinking long term. I'm a hardcore trad lady, and tbh it takes a lot of desire and hard work on both ends to make things work; you have to be on the same page as far as goals from the very beginning if it's ever going to happen.

Wait a minute...
60 percent of people try collage? That means, that even with collage you are still averege. Literally average. What the hell? ![]()

It is so stupid.
I got a job offer while I was in the last year of high school. I refused it, because I knew I can do better, and I will be signing a full time contract this year wether I finish Batchelor or not.
The tragic thing is, that I have noticed the smarter a person is, the sooner they get the job. Not the opposite.
A friend of mine was genius in electronics. He didn't go to uni, since he got a job from high school. I got a job during Batchelor degree, so I am too lazy to finish it. And my room mates still have a shitty job, but since they didn't "find themselves", they are studying even further.
The degree really doesn't seem to help anymore. All you need now is the skill and charisma good enough to show it.

It's quite a good story actually. No, I did not have any good job before this one.
First time, I got rejected. I specifically asked why, and as a response, I got that I was too shy and incapable of proper communication.
So, I got a job at a local bookshop, where I could spend days talking to people from every social background.
And when I tried for the job again an year later, I got it without problems.
The chariama to prove your skill seems to be a rarity these days. And from my observations, the longer you are in school, the worse your charisma gets.

I know a guy who is obvious intellectual. He studied art and said to me, that they told him IN FIRST CLASS that only 20 percent of graduates get a job in art...
Well. He didn't get a job in art. ![]()

Find a programmer and do an adult visual novel.
I tried inspecting files of a decent one, and just so you know the scale, it had a total of 3 000 pictures, most of them 30x30 pixels face variations or UI.
But that thing makes 3k per month, so if you split it with one programmer, it is a decent start

Ok. I just wanted to offer a possible path to make this hoby into a living.
@Morghur @hard_no @oxblood @PunishedD @TheMadPirate @mushroom_soup
Man. I love programming. When done twice per year.
So yeah. I definitelly know what you're talking about there.
The reason grads can't find jobs now is because they made it so "accessible", the supply of college grads flooded the demand. Look at the first chart for Gen X/early millenials; this was the generation that fed the college boom of the late 90's and early 00's.
By contrast, look at the rates of TOTAL degrees in the population over the last 80 years. That start point in 1940, the beginning of the Silent Generation, only 9.3% of the population had a degree. By the end of the generation it got up to 16%.
Millenials hold roughly 3x the degrees as their grandparents, and should expect the "investment" premium from them to shrink accordingly.
