Sadly, these people were demoralized since childhood to always follow the authority.

First teachers, then TV. And even if in TV they said not to listen to it, they would fallow the very next guy on it. If someone smashes the TV for them, they will grab nearest news, join cult etc.

I wish I was wrong about this one, but I am more sure about this fact then even about the basic math.
