It works the same way, as you can have guys cut their dicks off and take hormones. Would you call them women though? They do call themselves that, but I won't.

In here, we have communist party full of conservatives and a "pirate" party full of marxists.

That is the nature of politics sadly. That doesn't mean you cannot still be talking about the original ideas accurately.
