I don't get it. :ablobthinkingeyes: :akko_sad:
We used to be animals. We didn't know destilation of water or heating of the meat. Since then, I don't thing we could have possibly changed so much biologically.

Even if we count child bearing at the age of 15 and another 13 years of defending kids, That would put minimal required survivor age at 28.

How is it possible, that unfiltered water and raw meat can kill us now? And is that shit reversable?

@LukeAlmighty why can Mexicans drink their tap water but it gives Americans terrible diarrhea, think you just get used to it, also we can eat most meat raw, a lot of meat we cant eat raw is because of factors other than it just being what it is.

@travis
Now that you mention it, I had a similar conversation with my sister today.

I recently learned, that in japan, people consume raw eggs. In here, it's taboo because of chance you might get salmonella. But some homeless people in here just got used to that virus, and are no longer affected. I guess it's realy just that simple.

@LukeAlmighty i as an American consume raw egg, ill add it to Ramen sometimes. Raw egg should be pretty safe, just wash off the shell before you consume it, chicken poop particles are actually what give you salmonella. Eggs are freaking magic, its natures canned food. Eggs stay good out side refrigeration for like 2-4 months.

@LukeAlmighty You can ingest raw/unfiltered whatever and unless there's bacteria in it, you'll be fine. It's just that digestion is easier and more efficient (more calories extracted) from cooked food. Aside from killing parasites, cooking partially breaks down the matter in the food (plant or animal), so an advantage is to be had by doing so: in nature, the more efficient user of calories tends to be the one that survives.

>Unless there's bacteria.

Ouf... so I just have to find a disinfected water... how hard could that be anyway.

Sorry for my sarcasm, but that was exactly my point.

@LukeAlmighty Not hard. In general, moving water is typically going to be clean, still water not so much. Drink from springs and streams, not from ponds and lakes. If the latter are your only options, get it boiling for at least one minute (three at high elevation, 6k and up iirc).

@LukeAlmighty
Actually we can, there's still a few tribes that still eat raw meat, like the one on the pic.

There was a article(that I don't know how to search) about a nomad african tribe that eat raw meat and they searched for an explanation for that, the reason was kinda simple.

These tribes usually when they kill the animals, they eat right there or take to the tribe to eat(which doesn't take more than a few hours). Because most of the time the animal is still hot the antibodies on the animal carcass helps the body to delay the growth of bacterias and more.

And this is the difference, they kill the animal and eat right there, so the meat itself is clean

About the water I think can be the source or the body of the person grew antibodies to deal with the "purification"of it
