Why do I hear a lot from Czechs but nothing from Slovaks?

Because 9/10 slovaks still refuse to acknowledge they're not czech.

No idea. But you wold be surprised just how ridiculous it is. I have never seen people so pissed off as slovaks, when I tell them that I don't understand them...

Why is is considered rude to use a common langueage?
in Moravia, everyone seems to understand - some even reassured me that Slovak is alright - but when I meet somebody who doesn't, I find it reasonable to switch to Czech... since I'm the foreigner after all
not learning the language is just rude. I personally first trained it on Vietnamese and Ukrainians because those won't give you funny looks when you sound strange :D
